“Your People Are My People” – March 24th, 2024

Mar 25, 2024

Membership Sunday
with Rev. Sophia preaching, Jean Gauthier, Chuck Dickinson, Aaron Hartmann, Charlyn Bethell, Guy Urban and our Membership Committee!

We will celebrate our 12 new members this Sunday by learning more about them, exchanging words of covenant, and witnessing them sign our membership book. This worship service will help us all reflect on the transformative power of covenant and belonging to one another. Do yourself a favor and come to church–we really are stronger with you among us.

Reading: “To Know Each Other Already,” Rev. Karen Johnston

I want to find my place among,
I want to weave with others a common life,
so that when our politics and our values do not find us on the same common ground,
that finds us only in conflict,
we still can be in the same room and know each other.
I want to know you and your name,
even the names of those whom you love and those who love you,
so that should the flood waters rise, as they do,
or should hate shatter our civic hearts, as it increasingly does,
I want to recognize you.

I want us to not meet there,
in that hard place,
in that place of fear or despair,
but to know each other already.
