“To Be Broken Open” – February 11th, 2024

Feb 12, 2024

Rev. Sophia preaching with Djalai Babazadeh, Eileen Ryan, Nick Haddad, Charlyn Bethell, and Guy Urban.

Unitarian Universalist’s fight for Justice and Equity as a spiritual mandate might be better understood as a fight for heart, soul, and compassion. This worship service will consider what Holy disruption means in our fight for liberation, and how the healing of the world might just depend on our heart’s ability to be broken open. Nick Haddad will offer us his Journey of Faith, and a surprise guest will offer us a Time for All Ages! Do yourself a favor–slow down and come worship with us.

Reading: “With That Moon Language” By Sufi Poet, Hafez, and translated by Daniel Ladinsky

Admit something: Everyone you see, you say to
them, “Love me.”

Of course you do not do this out loud, otherwise
someone would call the cops.

=Still, though, think about this, this great pull in us
to connect.

Why not become the one who lives with a full
moon in each eye that is always saying,

with that sweet moon language, what every other
eye in this world is dying to hear?
