This is a reminder of a very important congregational meeting to consider requests from the Building and Grounds Committee to fund several major capital projects, as well as to consider certain budget changes proposed by the Finance Committee.
Over the past year, your B&G Committee has been working hard to identify and prioritize important projects that will be of long-term value in preserving our historic meeting house, making it more energy efficient, more comfortable, and more welcoming. By ensuring the building is functional and welcoming, we are supporting our religious and community mission.
We will be asking you to vote on three specific initiatives, as follows:
- Re-roofing the 1996 addition to the building;
- Replacement of 25 windows in the sanctuary, front hallway, and two offices;
- Engaging a professional interior designer to work with the congregation and staff to develop a comprehensive plan for updating our interior spaces, including the sanctuary, offices, conference room and adjacent hallway, stairways, social hall, and lower lobby.
Funding for these projects will come from the church’s Capital Building Fund, a separate account set aside for major projects such as these.
