Parish Committee – March 25th, 2022

Mar 25, 2022

Greetings from Parish Committee!

After much deep consideration by the Opening Up Committee and the Parish Committee the decision was made to expand in-person capacity and lighten the protocols at the church starting on April 3rd. Please see the below information and community commitment the committees confirmed:

In the spirit of community, upon entering communal space and gatherings at our church, we ask everyone to take a moment of care and concern for the larger community and please chose not to attend a service or gathering if you are not feeling well, a family member is not feeling well or if you or anyone one in your household is aware of a possible exposure to a virus. Our care for each other creates our church home.

  • No capacity limit to attendance in the church
  • No vaccine requirement (this is primarily to accommodate children under 5). Vaccines for those able to get them are encouraged
  • No advanced sign up required
  • Sign-in sheet at service for any tracing if needed
  • Masks are required
  • Gentle singing allowed

Outside and church meetings:
Please ask the people you are with if they are comfortable taking masks off. If anyone feels the slightest bit uncomfortable the people with them are asked to keep their masks on. Consent, consideration and compassion for each other is our protocol.

Food outside is not starting at Sunday services right now. There is a dinner planned after the talent show to be held outside the second week in May. As things are right now the dinner will go forward. If it rains it would be inside the social hall and under the tent.

The “Spotlight Articles” being written for the Arbella are now requested to be 330 words or less. In that Spirit we share the next brief updates. If anyone would like more details or have questions about what’s going on at Parish Comm please email Parish@FPWatertown.org.

Parish Comm voted to establish an Ad-Hoc Tech Ministry Committee. We are excited to establish this new committee and are very grateful to its members!

At our April meeting we will be reviewing this past year’s budget vs. actual expenses and will be discussing the proposed budget for the new year as presented by our Treasurer Matt Calabro and the Finance Committee. We thank them and the Giving Committee for all their hard work this time of year, it is deeply appreciated!

Along with the budget Parish Comm. will be discussing other items to be brought to the larger congregation at this year’s meeting. The annual meeting is April 24th, please plan to attend if you can, your vote matters! Detail will be in a future Arbella as discussions are underway as to the best way to hold this year’s meeting so voting is smooth and members sharing questions and thoughts is easy and clear.

Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy Spring,
Your Parish Committee
