Parish Committee – January 28th, 2022

Jan 28, 2022

Greetings from Parish Committee!

Once again it’s been an active month. The results of the multi-platform worship survey are in. We had 28 responses.  Thank you to those who responded. The results have been compiled into 15 pages of charts, graphs and 9 pages of reflective comments, helpful suggestions and ideas! Once we have finished organizing the results, we will share them with committees and staff and will be putting a link in the next Arbella for the congregation. Overall, people feel the multi-platform worship service model is very successful and are deeply grateful to those who made and continue to make this happen!

Parish Committee has begun to look at our policies and procedures. With the knowledge and experience of the past two years, the importance of a written foundation for how FPW functions is key to our running smoothly. We’ve begun identifying areas where we don’t currently have a policy/procedure in place. We’ve paired up in small groups of 2 and have begun writing them. Our many current policies are also being reviewed in light of what we’ve learned in the last few years. We’ll then connect with the appropriate committees for review. Many of our current policies, along with our by-laws, are listed on the First Parish website. Please take some time to take a look! These have been written with thoughtful care and concern and we hope to give the same depth of care and concern with our new and updated policies. The website link is  https://fpwatertown.org/about/governance/policy/.

Next week, the Opening Up committee is meeting, Feb 1st at 7pm, to review where we are and what the next month or 2 looks like. All are welcome to attend this meeting! If you’d like the zoom link please email the parish@fpwatertown.org and we can share the link with you.

Please feel free to email the Parish Committee anytime with your ideas, question or concerns. Your voices are important and feedback helps us make better more informed decisions. We are all the village of FPW, together we care and support each other and create the path to what we see as our future!

Hope you are all staying warm and healthy,
Your Parish Committee
