Happy Holidays and Wishing everyone a very happy and healthy New Year!

There are so many wonderful happenings, where to begin? The Newcomers lunch was well attended and a fun social time was had by all. We are so happy you are all here! The Pageant was a joyful creative event, a heartwarming celebration of the children and youth. The true meaning of this holiday time shined through! So many thanks to all who made it possible. The Wednesday evening Solstice service was warm and enriching. It magically wove in the adults, children, story and song. Gratitude to all involved. For both these special events the Tech Ministry did an outstanding job capturing the sound and sanctuary from many different angles, at times even capturing facing the fire place. We are all so grateful for the talents you share with us.

Taking an in-depth look into the congregations hopes and dreams for the church RE program (children, youth and adult) began this month with 4 meeting lead by Dr. Michele Grove our RE Consultant. The meetings were well attended and meaningful thoughts and feelings were shared. There is another set of meetings planned for the weekend of January 6th, 7th and 8th when Michele comes in person to continue her work with us. All are welcome and encouraged to attend! Many thanks to the hard work of the group who found Dr. Grove and are working with her on planning this process.

Parish Committee has been working on planning discussions on our Welcoming Space and Owning our History process which started in the spring. In January we are meeting with members of the congregation to plan ways to bring this work to the large congregation. This important work is hoped to opens doors and inspire new ways to see ourselves. We have also begun the work of how best to organize our online files. Members well versed in IT and record keeping plan to start meeting in January to find the best way for the church to set this all up for the future. Many thanks for all these talents. If you are interested in joining either of these groups please email Parish@fpwatertown.com. Parish Committee continues it’s work on policy and by-law review. It’s so interesting to look at our church, the UUA recommendations, and reflect on how important this all is. In light of the past couple of years we prepare for the future.

Together we enter this bright New Year!
