Join us as we work with religious education consultant Dr. Michele Townsend Grove in December and January in an effort to explore First Parish’s lifespan religious education heritage, identity and future. Everyone is welcome to participate in one or more opportunities. Your perspective and ideas will greatly benefit the congregation as you establish your religious education future and discern the job description and qualities of your next religious education professional. You are in liminal space. Exploring where you have been, where you are now and where you are going will create a strong foundation of lifelong learning. And it will also be fun!

There are four sessions focused on First Parish’s religious education heritage and identity. Three of these sessions are for all. One session is designed specifically for families, religious education leaders, and youth. You are welcome to attend one or more of these sessions.

The dates for the first round of online sessions are:

  • Thursday, December 1st 7:00-8:30 PM Session open to all (virtual)
  • Wednesday, December 7th 7:00-8:30 PM Session open to all (virtual)
  • Saturday, December 10th 10:00-11:30 AM Session open to all (virtual)
  • Sunday, December 11th Noon – 1:30 PM Session for families, religious education leaders and youth

Please register to attend one or more of the first four sessions. Registration is optional. Those who register can share information with Michele and receive updates on what to expect in each session.

There will be a second phase of sessions in person over the Jan 6-8th weekend. Stay tuned for more info!

In the meantime, please watch this welcome video from Michele and take some time to reflect on when you can join us for these sessions. We can’t stress this enough: religious education is not solely concerned with children and their caregivers. This is for all of us. There is much to share, and much to dream. Your presence is needed!
