How Can We Support Our Immigrant Neighbors? Find Out on May 17

May 1, 2026

Please mark your calendars! On Sunday, May 17, beginning at 12:15 pm (right after social hour), we will have a special opportunity to learn about the work of the Watertown Rapid Response Network (WRRN), as well as how we can be involved in supporting our immigrant neighbors as they struggle with fear and uncertainty.

The WRRN is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to assisting those who have been harmed by the administration’s harsh and unjust immigration policies and practices. Janet Penn and Benita Danzing, leaders of the WRRN’s Faith Based Canvassing Group, will explain how the WRRN’s working groups provide many different kinds and levels of support, and how we as individuals, and as a church community, may participate in this important work.

With so many immigrants making Watertown their home and workplace, the information offered by Janet and Benita will be important and useful for all of us to know. Even if some of us don’t feel personally vulnerable, in this community we have many opportunities to engage with those who do. Janet and Benita will help us to become more effective allies for those who are threatened by injustice every single day. Please share this opportunity with us! The presentation is sponsored by the Social Action Committee.

For questions, please reach out to Will Twombly or Holly Cachimuel.
