A bridge-builder, Rev. Andrew Kimble is invested in sustaining collaborative partnerships between the academy and communities of moral discernment. Ordained in the African Methodist Episcopal Church, Rev. Andrew serves as minister of church and culture at the Historic Charles St. AMEC in Roxbury, MA. Additionally, Rev. Andrew’s participation in philanthropic initiatives at Boston University School of Theology helps raise financial support for the school’s scholarships, programs, and annual fund. He earned his B.A. in Philosophy from Morehouse College, the HBCU that stands on that “red clay hill” in Atlanta, GA, and his M.Div. from BU’s School of Theology, known widely as “the School of the Prophets.” An emerging scholar, Andrew teaches online mini-courses on “Embodying the Spirit of Afrofuturism” and “Reflecting with Howard Thurman” and directs STH’s Online Lifelong Learning program. He is also an educational advisor for the Trauma-Responsive Congregations project. In his free time, Andrew enjoys listening to live jazz, running outdoors, visiting the used book section in local bookstores, and spending time with family and friends.
