May 27, 2022

Greetings from the Parish Committee,

It’s been a busy past month! The 391st Annual Meeting of FPW was held with a large number of the congregation participating. There was a lively discussion on the revised Social Action by-law that concluded with a unanimous vote in favor of the proposed by-law change. A big thank you to the Social Action committee for all their work on this. The prior year’s financial report was presented by the Michael Collins, Finance Comm Chair, and the new budget was presented by Matt Calabro our Treasurer. The church finances are in good shape and in good hands with our finance committee and Treasurer. All members and friends of the church have come together this year in their volunteering, financial support and most important your presence at Sunday services both in person and virtually, a heartfelt thank you! We give a special thank you to the tech ministry that made the multi-platform annual meeting possible, especially Tom Osfeld and Ross Dickson, who have led our tech ministry this year, we are in deep appreciation for the time and talents they have shared so generously with the church this year!

We enjoyed a wonderful Variety Show organized by the Fellowship Committee, led by Izzy Tappan-deFrees. All ages participated in sharing their wonderful talents, from songs to poems, jokes and playing musical instruments. A lot of joy to go around, thank you all so much for a wonderful day!

On June 5th following the service the church will hold a congregation wide meeting to vote on the 8th Principal (please see the warrant link in this Arbella). The meeting will be about 15 minutes after the service and will be both virtual and in person. There has been a lot of work leading up to this vote by the 8th Principal task force and we are so grateful to them for preparing us for this vote and the work ahead.

We now begin to say good bye to our DRE Lauren Strauss. We thank her so much for all she has given to the many children, parents and the whole congregation in the past 10 years. We are grateful for all the gifts she has shared with us all and wish her all the best.
