Greetings from Parish Committee!
This past Sunday was our 392nd Annual Meeting. The meeting was a wonderful celebration of this past year! Here are just a few of the highlights: Nominating committee reported that 66 members of the congregation are serving on our many committees this coming year, amazing! As committee members & friends pass the baton, ending their time on committees and joining new ones, we acknowledged two very significant transitions. Member Judy Kamm has been serving as a Trustee of the church for 35 years. We thank her so much for all the time and care she has spent overseeing the endowment funds of the church! Member Michael Collins has been serving as Clerk of the church for as many as 35 years if not more. As Clerk Michael has kept records of all our annual meetings, special meetings, and written & reviewed our many significant documents over the years, keeping us in good legal standing with them all. We thank him so much for all his service! Both Judy and Michael continue to serve on other committees in the church so luckily their expertise and wonderful presence will continue to be shared in the church community!
We thank everyone who served on committees, and assisted committees, this year for all their time, energy and care, thank you so very much!
Our Treasurer, Matt Calabro, then presented a review of last years budget vs. actual income and expenses and too much excitement reported a surplus of over $47,000. This was due to some unique circumstances this year and the congregation voted put a small portion of the funds into our “rainy day fund” and the rest into our Building fund. We thank the Finance Committee, Treasurer and Assistant Treasurer for all their time and hard work spent overseeing the finances of the church this past year. The new budget for the coming year was then presented. The Pledge Drive was a great success with 72 pledge units participating this year in the pledge drive! The pledges exceed the goal of the giving committee which enabled our budget for the coming year to give financial support in all areas of the church. The congregation voted unanimously to approve the new budget!
This year has been so successful because of all of you! We thank everyone for attending Sunday services in person and virtually, this is how we get to know each other and build community! From there our church grows into the creative vibrant church that was reflected at the Annual meeting and is reflected in our Annual Report. We hope you’re able find time to read all the wonderful committee reports and happenings of the church this past year. A joyous close to the past year and a joyous welcome to the new year!
In deep gratitude to you all!
