As our church year comes to a close, the Worship Committee has put together 7 summer services. The format and 10:30 time will not change, and services will be zoomed to those not able to join in person. Zoom links will be emailed on Sunday morning, as usual.
The dates, lay leader, and topics are listed below.
Children are welcome to attend, but there will not be separate children’s programming.
July 9: Lynn Bratley – “Poetry Potluck”
Back by popular demand. In this potluck we ask you to bring and read a poem you love and you think others would love, too. And in the end, we always wind up with a feast.
July 16: Beth Tappen DeFrees & Holly Cachemiul “Who Are You in the Eighth Principle?”
Reflections on the journey in this first year.
July 23: Carole Berney- “Who Are the Creatures in your Neighborhood”
Wildlife photographer Carole Berney will lead this interactive service, sharing photos on the big screen that display the surprise, wonder, beauty and spirit of the many local animals “captured” in her camera. She asks the question, “Who have you shared your neighborhood with?”
July 30: Rebecca Freedman “Awe at The Majesty of the Universe”
One scientist’s perspective on the beauty and intricacy underlying life and the universe.
Aug. 6: John Chamberlain – “Healing Practices”
Focus on herbs with protective flavonoids, samples provided.
Aug. 13: Neil Johnson & Julie Totten – “Cherishing our Pets”
This is a heartwarming service dedicated to celebrating our treasured animal companions and the profound bond of love we share with them. Please send us a snapshot of you and your pet(s), so that we can incorporate it into a slide show presentation during the service, paying homage to the wonderful connection between you and your dear friend(s).
Aug. 20: Morris Sullivan-“How to be a Superhero”-Sensei Sullivan will share insights into how we can put the teachings of the Buddha to use in real life to benefit our own life and the world around us.
