Faith Exploration – April 2026

Apr 3, 2026

For April, Faith Exploration is trying out a month-long intergenerational activity that addresses food insecurity by making meal kits to bring to the Watertown Community Fridge.
This is how we’ll do it:

  • On Sunday, April 5: Our children will select 1 to 2 recipes for FPW to focus on for the meal kits.
  • On Friday, April 10: Information about the ingredients needed for the chosen recipes will be shared in the weekly email newsletter.
  • Before Sunday, April 26: Donations will be accepted in labeled bins in either of the church’s entryways.
  • Sunday, April 26: During coffee hour there will be a table set up to organize the donated items into meal kits, and we’ll bring them over to the community fridge.

What I see in this activity is a way for our children to provide some direction, for individuals and groups of people to shop with intention, and for people of all ages to assemble kits and bring them to the fridge. We know that this activity is not the solution to food insecurity, but it is one way that we, as a community, can help alleviate what is a struggle for many.

Thank you in advance for your participation in this activity and for leaning into different ways of offering support. And much gratitude to the Malyska-Nordin household for sharing the idea for this project and to the Social Action Committee for collaborating, as well!

Please keep watch for the next weekly email which will share the ingredients needed.

Thank you,
KYLE
