Hello First Parish!
I am Phoebe Eckart-Lee, the new Assistant Minister at the First Parish in Lexington. I am coordinating the joint Coming of Age program between the Lexington and Watertown churches, and am so excite to begin working with your youth and getting to know your congregation!
Coming of Age is a program for 9th graders (or any youth of high-school age who has not participated before and is interested), it will run from October-June.
We are looking for adult mentors to participate in the program (approx. 2x month commitment). I hope mentors will be companion sto youth on their faith-formation journey this year, and also will experience their own soul-nourishment from the process. If you are an over-25 year old member of the congregation and are interested in serving as a mentor to some of these excellent youth – please email me at assistant.minister@fplex.org.
But Coming of Age is not just for youth! This fall, I’ll be joining you all at First Parish Watertown a few times to get to know you. I will also be offering a Coming-Of-Age for Adults workshop after coffee hour in November, for anyone who is interested to get a taste of what the program is like, Come explore your values and beliefs with me!
