Accessibility

We welcome and affirm people of all abilities. We have taken the following steps to assure that no one is excluded from full participation in the life of our church. If you have any questions or suggestions of how we can better support you in the future, please let us know!

Mobility

First Parish of Watertown has worked to make the church building physically accessible.  The entrance from the parking lot is wheelchair accessible via a ramp. This lobby has an accessible restroom and an elevator, which provides access to both the second floor (conference room and main sanctuary level) and the stage of the sanctuary.

Sight

Large print orders of service and hymnals are available at our worship services.

Hearing

Assistive listening devices are available at our worship services and congregational meetings in both the Church Street lobby and the elevator lobby.  Ask a greeter for assistance locating one.  During church meetings and workshops all speakers are encouraged to use a portable microphone.

Special Needs Children

All children are welcome to participate in our religious education programs! To discuss accommodations in the program for children with learning disabilities or behavioral issues, contact our Director of Religious Education.

Service Animals

First Parish Watertown welcomes people of all abilities and their work / service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The ADA defines a service animal as ‘any guide dog or signal dog, or other animal individually trained to provide assistance to an individual with a disability’.
